Kandinsky

A major exhibition tracing the aesthetic evolution of Wassily Kandinsky (Moscow, 1866–Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, 1944) throughout his career.
The exhibition comprises paintings and works on paper by the groundbreaking abstract artist, renowned aesthetic theorist and one of the great revolutionaries of early 20th century art. From Kandinsky’s early works, which reflect his interest in the potential of colour expression and the symbolic and spiritual resonance of art. through his period in Moscow, influenced by the utopian artistic experiments of the Russian avant-garde, to his experimentation with pigments and sand in a small studio in the Paris suburbs, where his work borders on Surrealism and the natural sciences.
